How to Make Your Lash Extensions Last Longer

Eyelash extensions can look full and fresh for weeks with the right care between appointments. Most of what shortens a set’s life comes down to a handful of everyday habits, not the extensions themselves. Here’s what actually makes a difference.
Keep Them Dry for the First Few Hours
Right after your appointment, the adhesive needs time to fully cure. Avoiding water, steam, and sweat for the first few hours gives each lash a chance to bond properly. Judy will let you know the exact window to wait based on the adhesive used for your set.
Skip Oil-Based Products
Oil is one of the fastest ways to loosen lash adhesive. That includes oil-based cleansers, makeup removers, and some moisturizers. Look for oil-free formulas around the eye area, and double-check ingredient labels on anything already in your routine.
Brush Gently, Daily
A quick pass with a clean spoolie each morning keeps extensions separated and looking tidy. It also helps prevent tangling, which can pull on natural lashes and cause extensions to shed earlier than they should.
Hands Off
Rubbing your eyes, pulling at individual lashes, or resting your face on your hands can all work extensions loose faster than normal wear. If something feels off, it’s better to have it checked at your next visit than to try to fix it yourself.
Book Fills Before They Get Sparse
Extensions shed along with your natural lash growth cycle, so some fallout is normal. Scheduling a fill before a set looks noticeably sparse keeps the overall shape and density consistent, instead of starting over each time.
None of this requires a complicated routine, just a little consistency. If you’re ever unsure what’s safe to use on or around your lashes, it’s always fine to ask at your next appointment.
